CEE’S ODDBALL CHALLENGE: WALGREENS OF WICKER PARK

Cee’s Oddball Challenge: Walgreens of Wicker Park

I visited the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago today, and visited the fanciest Walgreens…ever.  This Walgreens is located in the Noel State Bank Building, originally built in 1921. They renovated the building, but preserved the original architectural integrity. They restored the coffered plaster ceiling. They kept the large stained glass window in the ceiling. The bank vault is even still intact, now the “Vitamin Vault”. One wall of the vault is made of the original safe deposit boxes, and displays antique medicine bottles from Walgreens.

  1. How very fascinating are your photos for this week’s odd ball. I adore these.
For future challenge submissions, you may want to add this to my post for the specific week. Otherwise you won’t be considered to be featured. I will add your link this week for you. 🙂

  2. I love these! Very much like a building in Philly I often visit when visiting our daughter, as there’s a Starbucks in part of it. I’ll have to make it to this store this summer as I plan to take the train down to the city at least a few times when it’s nice enough to walk all over.
