ECHO MOUNTAIN, ALTADENA, CA

From 1896 to 1936, Echo Mountain railway and resort was Southern California’s must visit attraction.

It had a hotel, chalet, observatory, and zoo. The only thing left now are ruins. It’s a long hike, 5 miles roundtrip, with 1400 ft. elevation up a switchback trail.
